Janet Macpherson grew up in Barrie Ontario, and
   received her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from York
   University.  She then attended the Sheridan Institute of
   Technology and Advanced Learning in Oakville for three
   years where she studied ceramics.  Janet has exhibited
   her work in group shows at Harbourfront Centre for
   “Case Studies” and “Uncommon Objects”, and after
   winning an award from Sheridan College she was given
   the opportunity to have a solo exhibition at the Gardiner
   Museum of Ceramic Art in September 2003.   Janet has
   also participated in the annual Toronto Outdoor Art
   Exhibition for four consecutive years, and won two
   honourable mention awards for ceramics in 2003 and
   in 2006.   Along with shows in Canada, Janet also has
   also been a part of an international ceramic pillow
   exhibition that took place in Hong Kong.
    Currently Janet works from her Toronto studio where
   she makes her narrative rich black and white ceramics
   for various galleries in the city.  Her work can be found
   at The Gardiner Museum gift shop, distill, The Guild Shop
   and Muse Gallery.  She shares a studio space with three
   other ceramic artists.
